What are the differences between photovoltaic cables and ordinary cables?

Author:

Photovoltaic cables are often exposed to sunlight and solar systems are often used under harsh environmental conditions such as high temperature UV radiation. In Europe, sunny land can lead to site temperatures of up to 100°C for solar systems. Nowadays, we can use PVC, rubber, TPE and cross-linked materials. Unfortunately, rubber cables rated at 90°C and even PVC cables rated at 70°C are often used outdoors. Many contractors choose plain PVC cables instead of cables dedicated to solar systems in order to save costs;

  Resistant to mechanical loads In fact, during equipment and maintenance, cables can walk on the sharp edges of roof structures, where they are subjected to pressure, bending, tension, lateral tensile loads and strong shocks. Assuming unacceptable strength of the cable sheath, the cable insulation will be severely damaged;

  Radiation cross-linked data has high mechanical strength. The cross-linking process changes the chemical structure of the polymer and transforms fusible thermoplastic data into non-fusible elastomeric data. Cross-linking radiation significantly improves the thermal, mechanical and chemical properties of the cable insulation data.
